Transmedia marketing

Sometimes you see things which make you uber excited. For Steve Simpson, it’s data done well, Alastair Cotterill, pretty pictures..

For me, it’s this. At first glance it could be seen just as a PR trick, but if you actually think about it, it’s genius.

Mos Def (rapper / designer etc) has released his new album as a T-Shirt. That’s right. Within the T-shirt is a code where you can download the actual music itself, but that’s kinda not the point. Becuase this, to me, is just such an imaginative approach to dealing with the rapid devaluation of recorded music – shifting focus onto a physical product, with the music itself as an added extra
